Last week, I met with one of my long-time mentees and, on my way to meet him, I thought about how excited I was to shut my trap and just listen for a change. With a little nudge, he did most of the talking. Success!
As one who is used to dominating conversations (mostly out of nervousness), I now find it much more fulfilling—and effective, in terms of personal growth—to immerse myself in what others have to say.
Along with many other changes I’ve made in my life, I attribute this shift to my yoga practice. It’s about stillness, and the ability to remain in stillness so that we can fully embrace what others are willing to share with us. It’s also about opening our hearts to receive those gifts.
And, since I’m usually the one doing all the talking on here, I wanted to take an opportunity to open my heart up to you, my readers. I’d love to listen to you for a change.
What are you working on in your life? What would you like to see more of on here? What would you like to see less of? What can I offer to get you more excited to come here twice a week?

Until next time…
Namaste openhearted. And just listen.
